Quality & post-harvest

Vase life is decided long before the box is opened. Everything we do between cutting and dispatch is aimed at the flower arriving as it left.

Cut to order

We cut against confirmed orders at the right stage of opening for the flight time to your market, so the flower opens at destination and not in transit.

Hydration

Stems go straight into hydration solution after cutting. Rehydrating a stressed stem later never fully recovers the vase life that was lost.

Grading

Head diameter, stem length and straightness are checked against the ordered grade. Anything below grade is downgraded, not shipped up.

Cold chain

Cold room storage and refrigerated transport to the airline warehouse, so the product stays within its temperature range until it is on the aircraft.

What you can expect

Told before it becomes your problem

Flowers are an agricultural product: a hailstorm, a cold snap or a heavy flush changes what is available three weeks later. We cannot prevent that. What we can do is tell you in time to react.

  • Weekly availability, sent before you have to commit to your own customers.
  • Early warning when a grade or colour is running short.
  • Alternatives proposed — a different grade, variety or dispatch point — rather than a silent substitution.
  • Photographs of the actual cut on request, before the box is closed.

Ask for a sample box

The fastest way to judge post-harvest quality is to open a box yourself. Quarter boxes make that easy.
